Peggy Williams Fowler, 73, of Calhoun, died at Gordon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, July 22, 2017 following several months of declining health. Peggy was born in Floyd County on October 20, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Essie Gravitt Williams. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Myrtle Reed; her brother, Delmar Williams.
Peggy is survived by her son, Carl Hale; her daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Cannon, Hilda Smith, and Lynn and Scotty Heath; her grandchildren, Kevin Lambert, Michelle Brookshire, Greg Smith, Adam Smith, James Cagle, Ashley Heath, and Courtney Heath; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Carla Williams and Jimmy and Annette Williams; sisters and brother-in-law, Margie and Gene Edwards, Geraldine Serritt, and Annie Franklin; her great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The Fowler family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Fain Cemetery. Rev. Walter Hare and Rev. Lamar Hand will officiate. Music will be arranged by Steve and Tammy Miller. Pallbearers serving are Greg Smith, Adam Smith, Mark Mullinax, Douglas Woody, Fred Williams, and Ronnie Williams. Honorary pallbearers serving are Darryl Edwards, Larry Gravitt, James Cagle, and Kevin Lambert.
The family wishes to thank the staff and fellow residents of Gordon Healthcare and Rehabilitation for the caring and sweet atmosphere. They are especially grateful for the loving care of her CNA, Barbara Charles, and for the companionship of her roommate, Celia Mullinax.
