Perry 'Butch' Johnson

Mr. Perry "Butch" Johnson, 52, of the Pine Log community, died on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, following several months of declining health. Butch was born in Cartersville on May 27, 1965. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Glenn Johnson; his grandparents, Daisy and Bob Ray, and Emma and Hilan Johnson; his niece, Margurite Robinson. Butch graduated from Adairsville High School. He was a master welder, he loved farming, and he enjoyed working on old cars. Butch loved his dog, Callie. Butch worked for Shaw Industries. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Butch is survived by his wife, Penny S. Johnson; his mother, Betty Johnson; his daughter, Jessie Johnson Edwards and her husband, Matthew; his son Dalton Johnson (Madison King); his sister Teresia (Joe) Robinson; his brothers, Mike (Ginger) Johnson, and Mitchell Johnson; his nieces, Michelle (Coty) Henson, Nichole Johnson, and Kelita Robinson; his nephew, Christopher Johnson; his great-niece, Kensley Henson; his father-in-law, William P. Kirby. The Johnson family will receive friends on Monday, November 6, 2017 after 4:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, November 7th, after 8:00 a.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from Oak Hill Baptist Church. Rev. James Surratt will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. David Temples and Reggie Temples officiating at the graveside service. Pallbearers are Joseph Agan, Steve Baldwin, Tim Patterson, Wayne Pruitt, Ricky Sheriff, and Greg Strain; honorary pallbearers are Darrell Hyde and Buster Garland. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.maxbrannonandsons.com. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
