Perry Lynn Harkins

Mr. Perry Lynn Harkins, 66 of Calhoun, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, March 09, 2016 at his home. He was born in Gordon County on September 28, 1949, son of James Richard Harkins and the late Wincie Rutledge Harkins.

Mr. Harkins was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Tabernacle of Praise.

He leaves behind his wife, Brenda Jean Holland Harkins; his sons, James Alton Collie, and Perry Lynn Harkins, Jr. and his wife Teri; his daughter, Jennifer Lynne Harkins; his father, James Richard Harkins; a brother, Richard Wayne Harkins and his wife, Anna; sisters, Lisa Arlene Chamlee and her husband, Chris, and Deborah Ann Gibson and her husband, Glenn; and his grandson, Justin Lee Collie.

Services to honor the life of Mr. Perry Lynn Harkins will be held Thursday, March 10th at 5:00 PM from the Tabernacle of Praise, with Bro. Roy Smith and Bro. Wayne Harkins officiating. Interment will follow on Friday at 9:30 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, with military honors. Members of the Tabernacle of Praise and the church Youth Group will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The Harkins family will receive friends at the Tabernacle of Praise on Thursday, March 10th from 2:00 PM until the service hour at 5:00 PM.
