Mr. Phillip Eugene Alexander, age 60 of Fairmount, GA passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Miami County, Indiana on March 20, 1954, son of Leslie Arnold Alexander and late Gene Alexander.
Mr. Alexander was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy. He was a member of Farmville United Methodist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Dixie Lee Stephens Alexander; sons, Bobby Staneaugh of Marion, Indiana, and John Erwin of Calhoun; daughters, Jamie Kays of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Judy Erwin of Calhoun; brothers, Wayne Alexander, Bryan Alexander, and Mark Alexander, all of Beech Island, SC; sisters, Elizabeth Pukerud, and Sheila (Evan) Hovermale, all of Marion, Indiana; and grandchildren, Hope Erwin, Madison Kirby, Hannah Erwin, Hayden Norton, and Wyatt Kays. His step-mother, Irene Alexander of Beech Island, SC; and nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Phillip Eugene Alexander will be held Tuesday, December 9th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Taylor Fain, Austin Heifner, Even Hovermale, James Hovermale, John Erwin, and Andy Tate.
The Alexander family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 8th from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.
