Ralph Parris

Mr. Ralph Parris, age 83 of Resaca, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Fannin County, Georgia on November 15, 1926, son of the late Jim and Ella Thomas Parris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Samantha Louise Baggett.

Mr. Parris was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy, and was a member of the Resaca Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Sammie Vinson Parris; four sons, James Parris of McCaysville, Ronney Parris of Copper Hill, Larry Parris and his wife Phyllis of Calhoun, and William Parris of Cleveland, Tennessee; three daughters, Debra Scott, Mary Foster and her husband Harold, both of Dalton, and Angie Howard of Dawnville; a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Mildred Parris of Nashville, Tennessee; a sister, Pearl Pope of Cleveland, Tennessee; and step-children, Tommy Baggett and his wife Shirley of Resaca, Nickey Ray Baggett and his wife Phyllis of Lebanon, Tennessee, Wanda Kay Russell and her husband Richard of Nashville, Tammy Sue Tankersley and her husband Marty of Resaca, and Lori Ann DeMoss and her husband Charlie of Pleasant View, Tennessee. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Parris will be conducted Wednesday, January 27th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Susan Tankersley officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include William Parris, Dakota Miller, Nathan Miller, Eric, Brent, and J. J. Parris. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Muse and Tony Newton.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
