Ray Creed

Mr. Raymond "Ray" Creed, age 72, of the Union Grove Community, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 at his residence, following a brief illness.

Mr. Creed was born in Victoria British Columbia, Canada on November 22, 1934, son of the late W. Frank and Ella Creed. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Victoria, a member of the Home Builders Association of Victoria, and was a member of the Brethren Baptist Church in Victoria, British Columbia. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Susan Myers.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Mae Smith Creed of the home; three sons, Gordon and Glenn Creed, both of Canada, and Randall Creed of Australia; one daughter, Michelle Creed of Canada, and a step-daughter, Melissa Moore of Palm Beach, Florida. Twelve grandchildren, special sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Raymond "Ray" Creed will be conducted Tuesday September 4, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers serving will include Robert Smith, Brent Smith, Dennis Thomas, Walter Job, Jason Meadows and Tim Hall. Honorary pallbearers will include Jamie Rickett, Varner Meadows, Paul Pasley, Vernon Johnson, Bob Langley and Lile Dean. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
