Ray Davis

Rev. Anthony (Ray) Davis Sr., 57, pastor of Cornerstone Church in Calhoun, died at his home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 after several months of declining health. Rev. Davis was born in Gordon County on March 3, 1959; he was the son of the late Clyde and Clara Smith Davis. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lamar Davis, Johnny Davis, and Jerry Davis; his sisters, Betty Davis and Faye Addy; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Grady and Hazel Monteith; his brothers-in-law, Elmer Stone and Hugh Jackson.
Survivors are his wife of thirty-nine years, Carol Monteith Davis; his daughter, Jennifer Davis; his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Jr. and Bernadette Davis; his grandchildren, Haley, Trey, Alex, and Laston Davis, C.J. Hawkins, and Jazzmine Davis; brothers and their wives, JR and Thelma Davis, and L.C. and Odessa Davis; sisters and their husbands, Norma Jean Stone, Joyce and Ricky Kirby, and Nina Jackson; many more loving family members and close friends.
The Davis family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 21, and on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Bro. Joseph Wilkey and Pastor Howard Strickland will officiate. Pallbearers are Daniel Monteith, Elbert Jackson, Tony Gentry, Jeff Davis, Brian Davis, and Nathan Renner. Honorary pallbearers are Fain Hall, Michael Stone, Trey Davis, Alex Davis, Laston Davis, C.J. Hawkins, and Owen Davis.
