Mr. Ray Gene Davis, age 51, of Calhoun passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Davis was born on June 8, 1959 in Floyd County. He was the son of the late Charles Davis and is survived by his mother, Gail Marie Bowman Holcomb, of Sugar Valley. He was a member of Plainville Church of God of Prophecy.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Faye Whitfield Davis; his son, Chris Langley of Plainville; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and David Burchett of Plainville; his brothers, Donnie Bowman, Bruce Bowman, Randy Davis, Dennis Davis, Johnny Williams, Barry Williams; and by his sisters, Sandra Clark and Kathy Williams; grandchildren, Joshua and Stephanie Tinsley, Audria and Joey Cain, Jessica Langley, Byron Langley, Cross Langley, David Burchett Jr., Jim and Megan Burchett; his great-grandchildren, Preston Jack Tinsley, Kyndall Cain, Aaron Burchett and Kaylin Burchett; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Gaddis officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to assist with the funeral expenses.
