Ray Moore

Mr. Ray Moore, age 80 of Adairsville, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at his residence following several months of declining health. He was born in Murray County on December 13, 1929, son of the late Jasper and Ethel Manis Moore. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five brothers, Grady Moore, D.V. Moore, Hoke Moore, Frank Moore, and Rembert Moore; and three sisters, Ruth Moore, Cleo Montgomery, and Agnes Moore.

Mr. Moore was a veteran, having served his country in the US Army, and was a retired truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Wanda Faye Burgess Moore; a step-son, Tommy Moore; a step-daughter, Darlene Smith; close friends, Louis Collier, Jessie Collier, and Terry Collier; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Ray Moore will be conducted Sunday, January 24th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David White officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Mark Rogers, Anthony Thomas, Keith Long, Randy Long, Gene Brown, and Allen Collier. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 1:15pm. Honorary pallbearers are Jess Collier, Terry Collier, and Wilburn Dycus.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity in Mr. Moore's name.
