Raymond D. Patterson

Mr. Raymond D. Patterson, age 71 of the Sonoraville community, Calhoun, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on January 8, 1941, son of the late Benjamin and Annie Mae Kirby Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ann Patterson, a brother, Dennis Patterson, and a sister, Dorothy Logan.

Mr. Patterson was retired from the textile industry, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church near Sonoraville.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Edwards Patterson of the residence; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Daina Patterson of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Todd Eaton of Calhoun; a step-son, Johnny Simpson of Sunbright, TN; two sisters, Kathy Pierce of Calhoun, and Bernice Sills and her husband Dewey of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Brandon Eaton and his wife Kayla, Blake Eaton, and Bryant Eaton; and great-grandchildren, Caden, Noah, and Audrey Eaton. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Raymond D. Patterson will be held Wednesday, January 25th at 2:00pm from the Bethlehem Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Parker, Rev. David Guthrie, and Rev. Randy Adcock officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Brandon Eaton, Blake Eaton, Bryant Eaton, Tracy Parker, Johnny Simpson, and Keith Ray. Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Fox, Alvin Johnson, Billy Erwin, Randy Myers, Julian Holcomb, Will Hughes, Billy Kay, and Reggie Cloud.

Mr. Patterson will lie in state at Bethlehem Baptist Church Wednesday from 1:00pm until the funeral hour of 2:00pm.

The Patterson family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
