Raymond Green Albright

July 25, 1925 — June 28, 2009

Mr. Raymond Green Albright, age 83 of Sugar Valley, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Albright was born on July 25, 1925 in Gordon County, son of the late John and May Walker Albright. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He was lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion, and was a member of the Sugar Valley Lodge #733 F & AM.

Survivors are his wife, Leona Tate Albright, to whom he was married for 63 years; a son, David Albright and his wife Martha, of Sugar Valley; and a grandson, Chad Albright of Sugar Valley.

Funeral services for Mr. Raymond Green Albright will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwaine Shadix officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Vernon Talley, Jack Brown, Carl Pack, Sam Black, Dale Hightower and Hugh Don Tate. Alternate pallbearers will be Gene Davis, Baldy Pack and R.F. Bennett. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Tuesday during the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm.
