Rembert Lee Rankin Sr

Mr. Rembert Lee Rankin, Sr., age 64 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Spring Place, GA on April 15, 1944, son of the late Bill and Alice Evans Rankin. Mr. Rankin was retired from the textile industry, having worked with the Beulieu Corporation.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda Brown Rankin; a son, Rembert Lee Rankin, Jr. of Calhoun; two daughters, Barbie Rankin and Laura Allen, both of Calhoun; two brothers, Leonard Rankin of California, and Kenneth Killingworth; and four sisters, Frances Tinker of Tennessee, Geneva Zellars of North Carolina, Evelyn Williams of Rossville, GA, and Jean Crenshaw of Alabama. Six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Rembert Lee Rankin, Sr. will be conducted at 1:00pm Friday, June 6 from the Bethesda Baptist Church, with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Active pallbearers are Gary Mulkey, Tim Stennett, Corey Rankin, Chris Releford, Jeff Amos, and Lance Timms. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15pm on Friday. Honorary pallbearers are Cody Rankin and Hunter Nations, and they are asked to meet at 12:45pm Friday at the church.
