Retha Baker Smith

Retha Baker Smith, 66 of Adairsville, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at Mount Berry Hospice. She was born in Gordon County on December 8, 1950, daughter of the late Joseph Carl and Ruth Irene Seritt Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles J. Baker, Carolyn Bryant and her husband Butch, and Margie Sue Long.
Survivors include her children, Tammy (Bennie) Watkins, Stacey Jimmy Silvers, and Candi Lynn (Billy Popejoy) Smith; her grandchildren, Dustin Massingill, Mitchell (Emily) Massingill, Terrana Massingill, Kayla Silvers, Austin Silvers, Jessie Cronon, and Tristan Cronon; her great-grandchild, Aaliya; and her sister-in-law, Charlotte Baker. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Services to honor the life of Retha Baker Smith will be held Monday, October 9th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwaine Shadix officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Dustin Massingill, Mitchell Massingill, Terrance Massingill, Billy Popejoy, Brandon Remas, and Gerald White.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 8th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
