Retha Mcbeth Parker

November 23, 1931 — July 13, 2012

Mrs. Retha McBeth Parker, age 80 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Gordon Health Care. She was a native of Gordon County, daughter of the late Rev. Frank and Annie Mealor Cobb. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rayford Parker in 2007; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and J.W. Passley; and a sister-in-law, Margie Cobb. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include a step-son, Keith Parker and his wife Sherry of Calhoun; five brothers, Tom Cobb and his wife Mary of Dalton, Robert Cobb and his wife Gwen of Adairsville, Carlise Cobb of Griffin, Larry Cobb and his wife Bobbie Jean of Adairsville, and Dallas Cobb and his wife Diane of Calhoun; two sisters, Carolyn Collins of Cartersville, and Gail Pierce and her husband Thomas of Calhoun; and two grandchildren, Maci and Tess Parker. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Retha McBeth Parker will be held Sunday, July 15th at 3:00pm from the Bethlehem Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Parker and Rev. Jackie Waits officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Robert Cobb, Carlise Cobb, Larry Cobb, Dallas Cobb, Rick Cobb, and Thomas J. Pierce. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Puckett and Julian Holcomb.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 5:30pm until 8:00pm.
