Rev. Jimmy Eugene Hogan

Rev. Jimmy Eugene Hogan, 77, of Resaca, died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at his home. He was born in Floyd County, GA on October 16, 1940, son of the late Rev. T.E. and Sarah Puckett Hogan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hogan York.
Rev. Hogan, along with his wife, pastored many churches of the Church of God, including Hughes COG, Pine Bluff COG, and Cave Creek COG, in Arkansas; Ludowici COG, Hillside COG, McRae COG, and Denton COG, in south Georgia; and Sugar Valley COG, Bowersville COG, Beech Creek COG, and Higher Praise COG, in north Georgia. He also had a radio ministry on WCON in Cornelia, GA, and Marianna, AK. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army.
He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Bramblett Hogan, to whom he married on August 3, 1962; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lu Cretia and Wayne Dykes, and Selena and Kipp Champion; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Beverly Hogan; sisters and brother-in-law, Faye and David Zimmerman, and Patsy Tapley; grandchildren, Timothy Dykes, Stephen and Chrissy Dykes, and Carrie Dykes; and a great-grandchild, Aniyah Dykes.
Services to honor the life of Rev. Jimmy Eugene Hogan will be held Monday, November 27th at 10:00 AM from College Street Church of God, with Pastor Dwayne Smith officiating. Men of College Street Church of God will serve as pallbearers. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest, GA.
The Hogan family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, November 26th, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
