Richard Alvin Franks

Mr. Richard Alvin Franks, age 65 of Resaca, GA passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Gordon Hospital following a year of declining health. He was a native of Gordon County, born on November 9, 1948 to the late Clyde and Wanda Faye Boggus Franks Lanza. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Franks.

Richard was a retired auto body repairman.

He leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kim Franks of Calhoun; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Tracy Cochran, and Tracie and Shane Speer, all of Calhoun; three brothers, Tommy Franks of Resaca, Bud Franks of Alabama, and Randy Long of Connecticut; and two sisters, Connie Hudson of Resaca, and Rita Chandler of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Cody Franks, Bogen Cochran, Megan Cochran, Jake Franks, and Kylie Speer. Other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Richard Alvin Franks will be held Monday, March 3rd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David Peeler officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial. Active pallbearers will include Bogen Cochran, Cody Franks, Thomas Franks, Tracy Cochran, Shane Speer, and Charles Carr.

The Franks family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
