Mr. Richard Buck Langston, age 77, a well known resident of Calhoun, went to be with his Lord Sunday evening March 1st at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Langston was born in the Dews Pond Community of Gordon County on June 17, 1937 son of the late L.T. Langston Jr. and Ruth Charles Langston. He was a member of the 1955 graduating class of Sonoraville High School and the Georgia National Guard for 10 years. He was well respected by his peers in the construction trade having built over 1000 homes in the area. He owned and operated Langston Builders until his retirement. He was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Langston and a sister, Letha Neola.
Survivors include his loving wife, Faye Parker Langston to whom he was married for 56 years, one daughter, Sandy Johnson and her husband Allen of Calhoun, three sons, Chuck Langston of Atlanta, GA, Jeff Langston and his wife Amanda of Calhoun and Tim Langston and his wife Sharon of Calhoun, two sisters, Judy Duvall and her husband Randy of Calhoun and Annette Berry of Calhoun, one brother, Bobby Langston and his wife Jeri of Marietta, GA. Grandchildren; Misty (Mark) McCarly, Nick (Caroline) Cochran, Josh (Keara) Cochran, Tiffany Langston, Heather Langston, Ashley (Anthony) Ortiz, T.J. (Delaney) Langston, Katelyn Langston, Kristen Langston, Alex Haynes, Ashton Ensley and Amanda Johnson. Thirteen great, grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Richard Buck Langston will be conducted Wednesday, March 4th at 1:00 PM from College Street Church of God with Dr. Anthony Lombard, Rev. Ken Young and T.J. Langston. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating. The Bentley's will have charge of the music. Pallbearers serving will include; T.J. Langston, Nick Cochran, Josh Cochran, Anthony Ortiz, Mark MCCarly, Ed Clance, Jackson Wright and Chad Cochran. Honorary pallbearers include; Clyde Allen, Charley Allan, Dale West, Jeffrey Long, Jim Hobgood, Edward Fowler, Dennis Williams, Clyde McEntyre, Milton Stewart, Davis Rogers, Roland Jeffords and Gary Duke.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the American Heart Association in his memory.
