Richard Fowler

Mr. Richard Fowler, age 67 of New Calhoun Road, Adairsville, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 at his residence after nine months of illness. He was born in Gordon County on April 13, 1941, son of the late Clifford and Edna Mae Boyd Fowler. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Fowler Edwards.

Mr. Fowler was retired from the Coosa Baking Company after over 30 years of service. He was a minister and had walked with the Lord for 23 years, and loved his family and church. He was a member of the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Brenda Burnette Fowler; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richie and Daleann Fowler of Dalton, Eric and Pamela Fowler of Calhoun, and Rodney and Rita Fowler of Adairsville; two daughters, Rhonda Voyles and her husband Donald of Adairsville, and Connie Krouse of Armuchee; and a brother and sister-in-law, James and Elaine Fowler of Fairmount. Thirteen grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Fowler will be conducted Monday, May 19 at 3:00pm from the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy, with Brother Jerry Gaddis and Brother Tommy Howell officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Buster Goss, Charles Carney, Demsey Wright, Bill Langley, Randy Hufstetler, Denton Wright, and Ray Bailey. Mr. Fowler will lie in state at the church from 2:00pm until the funeral hour of 3:00pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday evening between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
