Richard Thomas O'Mahony Ii

Mr. Richard Thomas O'Mahony, II, age 31 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born on November 26, 1978 in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Richard Thomas O'Mahony, Sr. and Angela Darlene Jones O'Mahony. He was a graduate of Calhoun High School, Class of 1997, where he excelled in wrestling, was a member of the Georgia Wrestling Team, and played on the soccer team. He served his country with the United States Army.

He is survived by the mother of his loving children, whom he adored, Quincey O'Mahony; his children, Benjamin Landon O'Mahony and Ryleigh Mierann O'Mahony; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Thomas O'Mahony of Calhoun; a brother, Bradford James O'Mahony of LaGrange; and Grandparents, Robert and Linda Martin, and Albert and Alice Colflesh, all of Davenport, Iowa. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Harriett Martin and J.C. Jones.

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Thomas O'Mahony, II will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Minister Gail McGatha and Pastor Norris Sexton officiating. Honorary escort will be members of Gordon County E-911 Center, Gordon County Emergency Management, Gordon County Ambulance Service, the Gordon County and City of Calhoun Fire Departments, Gordon County Sheriff's Department, the Calhoun Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, and the Gordon County Wrestling Club. They are requested to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow the service in the Chandler Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday evening during the hours of 6 until 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made for funeral expenses.
