Ricky Lamar Brookshire

Ricky Lamar Brookshire, 54, of Calhoun, died suddenly on Saturday, May 9th.

Ricky was born in Gordon County on June 22, 1960; son of Adel Brookshire and the late Mary Frances Brookshire. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Brookshire. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth Chapman, earlier this year. Ricky was an active member of Bethesda Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He worked at LG Hausys.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Denise Chapman Brookshire, of Calhoun; his daughters, Shannon Brookshire, and Rachel Brookshire, both of Calhoun, and Katie Presley, of Kennesaw; his father, Adel Brookshire, of Ranger; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Teresa Brookshire, of Calhoun, Kenny Brookshire, of Ranger, and Jason and Charlotte Brookshire, of Blue Ridge; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Dena and Lon Curtis, of Resaca, and Donna and Hal Smith, of Calhoun; his mother-in-law, Bertha Crook Chapman, of Fairmount, his sister-in-law and her husband, Donna and Greg Samples, of Adairsville; his brother-in-law and his wife, Kenny and Vickie Chapman, of Calhoun; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from Bethesda Baptist Church with Pastor Wesley Hunt officiating; eulogists will be Lon Curtis and Steve Brookshire. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Adel Brookshire, Kenny Brookshire, Steve Brookshire, Lon Curtis, Jason Brookshire, and Hal Smith. The deacons of Bethesda Baptist Church and their wives will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Ricky's family will receive friends at Bethesda Baptist Church on Monday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.

The family request that donations be made to the Bethesda Baptist Church Building Fund in Ricky's memory.
