Mr. John Ricky Parker, age 51 of Calhoun, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on July 28, 1960, son of the late John Dewey and Lois Lucille Bagley Parker. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Moore.
Ricky had been employed in the floor covering industry as an installer for 30 years.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Marsha Parker of Jasper, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy Sheriff and Dominic Clark, and Rita and Mitchell Moore, all of Calhoun; nieces, Blane Purdy and Letia Moore; nephews, Jake Sheriff, Jason Dickson, and Brandon Moore; great-nieces, Leah Sheriff and Hannah Sheriff; and a great nephew, Blaise Dickson. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. John Ricky Parker will be held Saturday, April 7th at 3:30pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Sheriff officiating. Interment will follow in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include David Sheriff, Kenny Long, Mitchell Moore, Jason Dickson, Dominic Clark, Jake Sheriff, and Caleb Sheriff.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 3:30pm.
