Mr. James Richard (Ritchie) Burns Jr. 51, of Calhoun, died at his residence on Tuesday, September 8, 2020,
Ritchie was born in Calhoun, Georgia on January 4, 1969, son of JoAnne Goforth Boyd and the late, James (Richard) Burns Sr. In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by his grandparents; Carles and Odie Mae Burns; Martha Redford, Earnest Goforth, aunt; Shelia Morrow, Ruby Cudd, uncles; Cecil, Gene and Fred Burns. He attended the George Chambers Resource Center.
Survivors include his mother and step-father; Joanne and Kim Boyd, sisters; Donna (Steve) Morrow, Becky (Tony) Temple and Lisa McPherson, nephews; Kevin and Andy Lambert; Russ, Ryan, and Billy Morrow, Chad and Eli Temple, and Anthony Hall, Nieces; Cheyenne Temple, Sara Morrow, Jennifer Gilfoil, 7 great-nephews and 6 great-nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services for Ritchie Burns will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM at New Life Ministries, 311 North Main Street, Adairsville, GA 30103 with Pastor Steve Morrow officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include; Kevin Lambert, Andy Lambert, Russ Morrow, Ryan Morrow, and Chad Temple. Honorary pallbearers will include George Chambers Resource Center members and staff.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2020, at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 PM. Mr. Burns's body will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 11:00 AM.
