Robert Bates Thomason

Mr. Robert Bates Thomason, age 77 of Calhoun, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gordon County on January 17, 1934, son of the late Clifford Hughdon Thomason and the late Pauline Sybil Goble Thomason. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Thomason. He was retired from Georgia Textiles.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jennifer Thomason, Jr. of Calhoun; three daughters, Sheryll Mitzner of Canton, GA, Connie Silvers and her husband Tommy of Fairmount, and Terri Banks of Calhoun; three brothers, Bill Thomason, Edward Thomason, and Larry Thomason, all of Calhoun; and a sister, Barbara Gallman of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Mindy Anastos, Kenzie Mitzner, Dustin Silvers, Ryan Silvers, Ashley Thomason, and Jill Lindsey; and great-grandchildren are Andrea Parker, Austin Harrison, Kaydon Poole, and Brandon Anastos.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Bates Thomason will be held Friday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Hare and Rev. Parhm Hammontree officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers include Trent Thomason, Heath Thomason, Mitchell Timms, Justin Timms, Hugh Thomason, and Logan McDougle.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday after 5:00pm.
