Robert 'Buddy' Hunter

Robert 'Buddy' Hunter, 65, of Calhoun died at his home on Friday, September 15, 2017. Buddy was born in Gordon County on July 1, 1952; he was the son of the late RT and Susie Sewell Hunter. Along with his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of more than 32 years, Shelia Thompson Hunter, in 2013; his daughter, Donna Jean; his brother, Randall Hunter. Buddy retired from the Gordon County Road Department. He was active in the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, and the VFW.
Buddy is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Stephanie Hunter, and Coby and Ashley Thomas; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann Hunter and Stan Jackson,and Misty and Rob Long; his brother and sister-in-law, James and Nan Hunter; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and B.H. Williams, and Ann and Michael Cross; his sister-in-law, Lois Hunter; a special niece, Tasha Hunter; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Alexis Long, Jacob Long, Seth Long, Colee Thomas, Karma Thomas, Parker Thomas, Chase Hunter, Chance Hunter, Hannah Pryor, Milia Mata, Alayna Jackson, Zoe Hunter, Parker Pryor and Paisley Pryor; other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Buddy's family will receive friends on Sunday, September 17th from noon until 9:00 p.m., and on Monday, September 18th from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Robin Nelson will officiate. To honor his wishes, Buddy's body will be cremated following the funeral service.
