Mr. Robert Donald Massingill, age 60 of Timberwood Road, White, Georgia died Sunday, December 14th, 2008 in Cartersville Medical Center following a heart attack.

Mr. Massingill was born in Floyd County on July 24, 1948, son of the late Virgil and Ruthie Mae Falls Massingill.

He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and outdoorsman, and a loving husband, dad, and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Fowler Massingill to whom he was married for 38 years; a daughter, Alicia Weiss and her husband Steve of White; a step son, John Massingill of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Jacob, James and Kristina Weiss, and Dustin and Michelle Massingill; three brothers, Joel, Russell, and Claude Massingill; and one sister, Clara Mae Heath. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Donald Massingill will be on Thursday, December 18th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Reid officiating. Interment will follow in the private family cemetery near White. Pallbearers serving will include David and Adam Massingill, David and Doug Fowler, Sean O'Connell and John Atkinson. They are requested to assemble at the funeral home Thursday at 12:30 PM.

The Massingill family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Wednesday between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 PM.
