Mr. Robert Silvers, age 93 of Waleska, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was born in Murray County, son of the late Will and Dora Noland Silvers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruby Mae Garland Silvers; three brothers, Jack Silvers, Ed Silvers, and George Silvers; and four sisters, Lou Hix, Rose Garland, Ann Silvers, and Minnie Potts.
Mr. Silvers was a retired electrician with the Floyd County Board of Commissioners, and was a 50 year Mason of the Plainville Lodge.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Debra Silvers of Cave Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Davis and the late Pete Davis, and Ellen and Weldon Ratcliff, all of Waleska; four grandchildren, Avery Davis, Aubrey Davis, Peggy Davis, and Santana Silvers; five great-grandchildren, Lonnie Davis Turner, Steven Davis Turner, Paul Thomas, Lee Beaver, and Erica Davis; and three great-great grandchildren, Brayden Thomas, Brock Thomas, and Makaylan Turner. A special friend, Lemmer Graves of Cumming, GA also survives.
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Silvers will be conducted Friday at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Hoyt Jones officiating. Music will be arranged by Sally Jones. Interment will follow in the Salacoa Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Lee Beaver, Scott Stafford, Steven Davis Turner, Troy Potts, Ronnie Van Dyke, and Sydney Van Dyke.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday after 4:00pm.
