Robert W. Smith

Mr. Robert W. (Bob) Smith, age 70 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009. He was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee on April 15, 1939, son of the late Paul Julian Smith and the late Thelma Elizabeth Watson Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Layell Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Patti Smith of Calhoun, and Mikeal and Sharla Smith of Dublin; a step-mother, Carol B. Smith; and five grandchildren, Leah, Robbie, and Haleigh, all of Calhoun, and Austin and Kyle of Dublin. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Robert W. (Bob) Smith will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00am from the Chandler Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Layell and the Rev. Harry Layell officiating. Active pallbearers will include James Anderson, Steve Hatcher, Bob Butler, Ken Greeson, Robbie Cole, Russell Johnson, and Sam Payne. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the cemetery at 10:45am.
