Mr. Roger Allen McBride, age 71 of Adairsville, died Saturday, November 14, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Roger was born on March 25, 1944 to Mildred Pauline Beers McBride and Harry James McBride.
Roger was employed for 34 years by the Timken Company in Ohio as an Industrial maintenance mechanic. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserve and a member of the American Legion. Roger accepted Christ as his savior in 1974; he loved God and actively served Him for over 40 years. Roger often helped those in need. He was always willing to lend a hand in service or with financial assistance. He served as a deacon, member of Gideon's International, missions team member, awana leader, leader in Grace Brethren Boys, Sunday School teacher, visitation team member, and served as a lay pastor for three years, Good News Club leader, lay counselor, and an active member of Belmont Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, fishing, and was an avid entrepreneur and cyclist. Preceding Roger in death are his parents and brother, Jerry McBride.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly McBride, to whom he was married to for 50 years; daughter, Kimberly McBride Felker and her husband Douglas; son, Daniel McBride and his wife Betsy; grandchildren, Ashley Felker Davilla and her husband Eduardo, Aaron Felker and his wife Alex, Seth Felker, Katherine McBride, Lillian McBride, Eleanor McBride, and Abbie McBride; brothers and sisters-in-law, MaryEllen and Jerry Rose, Rick and Noni Short, Gregory Short, Debbie and Jim Hagan, John and Debbie Gutzke, Theresa Colbert, Joann Thompson, Sharon McBride. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Roger McBride will be held Saturday, November 21st at 4:00 pm at Belmont Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Skelton officiating. Music will be arranged by Rev. Jim Sellers.
There will be a gathering of friends and family Saturday between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm at Belmont Baptist Church.
It is the wishes of the family that flowers be omitted and contributions be given in Roger's memory to, Answer God's Call Ministries, 215 W. Mesa Avenue, Gallup, NM 87301.
