Ronald Nesbitt Chambers

Mr. Ronald Nesbitt Chambers, age 69 of Adairsville, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. He was born in Greenville, SC on December 19, 1941, son of Nona Reeves Chambers and the late John Nesbitt Chambers. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Waymon Chambers and Michael Chambers.

Mr. Chambers had resided in Gordon County for the past 15 years, moving here from Tampa, FL. He was a self-employed carpenter during his lifetime, and was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Nancy D. Lively Chambers; two sons, Scott Duke and his wife Tara of Rome, and Joe Jones of Mississippi; two daughters, Rhonda Chambers and Lee Ann Flanders, both of Florida; his mother, Nona Reeves Chambers; and a sister, Cindy Huber and her husband Stan of Calhoun. Eighteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service and intombment will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 2:00pm on Friday, May 20th with military honors.
