Ronnie Gene Gentry

Mr. Ronnie Gene Gentry, age 67 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Whitfield County, GA on May 6, 1947, son of the late Eugene and Edith Fowler Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Billy Gentry.

Mr. Gentry had been employed with Image Carpets as a Plant Supervisor.

He leaves behind the mother of his children, Joyce Gentry of Calhoun; two daughters and sons-in-law, April and Jonathan Lambert of Calhoun, and Tonya and Mark Smith of LaFayette, GA; a son-in-law, George Russell; two brothers, Danny Gentry of Washington state, and Greg Gentry of Calhoun; a half-brother and half-sister, Edward Gentry and Inez Frazier, both of Dalton; and grandchildren, Kathryn Russell, George Russell, Gracie Russell, Bella Russell, Jeremy Bailey, Cameron Bailey, Jayven Bailey, and Andrea Bailey. Also surviving is a special friend, Bill Dodd; cousin, Mickey Gentry; and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Christy Moore of Homestead Hospice for her care and compassion for Mr. Gentry.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ronnie Gene Gentry will be held Thursday, June 5th at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Ricky Silvers, Rev. Freddie Craig, and Hubert Jackson officiating. Music will be arranged by Freddie Craig. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Mark Smith, Jeremy Bailey, Cameron Bailey, Jayven Bailey, Tanner Touhy, and George Russell.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday, June 4th after 4:00 PM.
