Obituary
Ronnie Ledale Hammonds, 71, of Calhoun died on December 23, 2020. He was born in Floyd County on March 25, 1949. Ronnie was the son of the late John Henry and Lola Mae Dowdy Hammonds; his brother, Henry Jack Hammonds also preceded him in death. Ronnie was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Rome. After many years of service, he retired from Agra Star in 2010.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of fifty-two years (Or, as Ronnie liked to say, 'five lifetimes.'), Linda Louise Evans Hammonds; his children, Helen Davis and her husband, Mike, Keith Hammonds and his wife, Amber, Kenneth Hammonds and his wife, Sandra, Robert Hammonds and his wife, Patricia, Mary Byars and her husband, Jess; his grandchildren, Sonny Hammonds, Ronald Benton, Jacob Brian Fagans, Mae Louise Hammonds, Laura Mae Hammonds, Jacob Allen Razo, Ricky Alex Razo, Sarah Ruth Owens, Ashley Roach, Kimberley Byars, and Cheyanne Byars; his great-grandson, Jacob Leeandrew Buckles; his brother, Wayne Hammonds and his wife, Kathy; other relatives and friends. He also treasured his dog, Brownie Hammonds.
The Hammonds family will receive friends on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Monday at 3:00 p.m. from Bethesda Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Wesley Hunt will officiate. Music will be arranged by Pastor Hunt and the Travelling By Faith Trio. Pallbearers are Rodney Curtis, Steven Interrante, Paul Evans, Timothy Gowens, Ricky Razo, Jacob Bryan Fagans, and Travis Hannah.
