Ms. Rosa Ella Greeson, age 90 of Calhoun, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Floyd Hospital following several years of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on November 22, 1926, daughter of the late William Earl and Dona Caroline Brogdon Greeson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Lewis Greeson, Paul Greeson, and Boyce Greeson; sisters, Lizzie Mae Owen, and Annie Lou Gunn; and nephews, Lamar Greeson and Dale Owen.
Ms. Greeson had spent the last 21 years in Rome, GA at Chulio Hills Health and Rehab. She helped raise all her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reading her Bible, crocheting, embroidery, Search-a-Word, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed all her trips with the Keenagers. She was crowned Queen of Chulio Hills in 1997, and had the longest residency at the facility of almost 21 years. She was a member of Blackwood Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Elaine (Kelly) Cornwell of Calhoun, Betty Jane (Charles) Parker of Calhoun, and Travis Gunn, Tina Gunn, Tony Gunn, and Tammy Gunn, all of Adairsville; and special friend, Kenneth Parker. A host of great nieces and nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Services to honor the life of Ms. Rosa Ella Greeson will be held Tuesday, February 14th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Crawford Greeson and Dale Hogan officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Travis Gunn, Tony Gunn, Cody Gunn, Jimmy Owens, Danny Fite, and Jerry Bagley. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Parker, Kristi Jordan, and members of the Blackwood Keenagers Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 13th at 5:00 PM.
