Obituary
Mrs. Rosa Lee Davidson McAbee, 81, of Resaca, Georgia died Wednesday evening at Erlanger Medical Center.
Mrs. McAbee was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 2, 1939, daughter of the late Arvil and Lavada Sparks Davidson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Mildred Davidson Stephens, Betty Davidson Curtis and Virginia Jo Davidson Cagle, and by one brother; Lyndell L. Davidson.
Mrs. McAbee graduated from Kirkman High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was a teacher at Harvest Christian Academy prior to retirement. She was a Proverbs 31 woman, prayer warrior, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a caring teacher and a faithful example. She was a member of Whitfield Baptist Church in Dalton.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Janet (Robert) Oglesby and Jennifer (Matt) Steed, two sons; Felton Ray McAbee Jr. and Steven McAbee. Grandchildren; Amanda Long, Renee Davis, Kimberly McAbee, Austin McAbee, Amy McAbee, Joel McAbee, Amber McAbee, Ashley McAbee, Cody Oglesby, Kaitlyn Oglesby, Leah Steed and Christopher Steed, thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Rosa Lee McAbee will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM from Whitfield Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Cofield officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Joel McAbee, Cody Oglesby, Christopher Steed, Austin McAbee, Andrew Kitchens, and David Curtis.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 13, 2020 at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. On Saturday Mrs. McAbees body will be placed in state at Whitfield Baptist Church in Dalton from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour.
Due to the National health crisis and the COVID-19 virus, the mask must be worn properly at all times and social distancing guidelines must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
