Rosa Mae Boswell Shaw

Mrs. Rosa Mae Boswell Shaw, age 94 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Gordon Heath Care Center.

Mrs. Shaw was born in Gordon County on November 8, 1914, daughter of the late Henry Morgan Boswell and the late Ora Williams Boswell. She was retired from the Gordon County School System, and was a member of the Oothcalooga Baptist Church in Adairsville.

Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Shaw; three sons, Richard, H.D. and George Shaw; one daughter-in-law, Genene Shaw; four brothers, J.P., Robert, Gordon and Paul Boswell; and two sisters, Eldie Silvers and Alene Stokes

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Anne Shaw of Adairsville; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Mae Boswell Shaw will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Hibberts and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Oothcalooga Baptist Church Cemetery in Adairsville. Pallbearers serving will include Roy Silvers, Edward Boswell, Bobby Shaw, Ralph Rickett, Danny Shaw and James Rickett. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Friday at 12:15 p.m. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
