Mrs. Rosa Marie Posey, age 78 of 116 Todd Street; Shannon, Georgia; died Saturday, August 05, 2006 at her residence.

Mrs. Posey was born on September 18, 1927 in Cherokee County; daughter of the late Walter Monroe and Rosa Jane Nelson Edmondson. Besides her parents; Mrs. Posey was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nution Posey, Sr., to whom she married October 18, 1942; also by a daughter; Shirley Brackett in 1987; by a sister; Lillian Balley and brother; Willie Dee Edmondson. She was a member of the Shannon Church of God of Prophecy.

Mrs. Posey is survived one daughter; Geraldine (Bunk) Martin and her husband, Chester of Shannon, Georgia. Three sons; Bobby Wayne Posey and his wife, Linda of Adairsville, Georgia; Thomas (Tommy) Posey and his wife, Manda of Plainville, Georgia and Jason Mitchell Brackett of Cedartown, Georgia. Two sisters; Lucille Young of Rome, Georgia and Annie Smith of Ellijay, Georgia. One brother; Johnny Edmondson of Adairsville, Georgia. Grandchildren and their spouses; Donna and Sidney Autry; Debbie and Paul Jackson; Tammy and Joe Moreno; Angie and Gene Scoggins; Jason Brackett; Melissa and Mike Lecroy; Kelly and Maria Scott; Chase Posey; Steven; Stephanie and Eric. Great grandchildren and their spouses; Misty and Clint Rogers; Amanda and Billy Kines; Lamar and Jennifer House; Zach Millsap; Justin and Ashley Millsap; Chesly Millsap; Chelsea Callahan; Donnie Jackson; Chesley Jackson; Kacie Scoggins and Kelli Scoggins. Great great grandchildren; Tripp Kines; Caty Kines; Seth Rogers; Reece Rogers; Jasmine House; Jeffrey House; Rylan Millsap; Ethan Millsap; Corbin Millsap; LaDonna Scott; Chris Scott and Sierra Scott. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Marie Posey will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Shannon Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Morning View Cemetery. Singing will be arranged by Amanda Kines. Active pallbearers serving will include; Steven Kilpatrick, Justin Millsap, Chesly Millsap, Zach Millsap, Kelly Scott and Lamar House. Honorary pallbearers will include; Eric Townsend, Chris Scott, Scott Height, Paul Jackson, Joe Moreno, Sidney Autry and Gene Scoggins. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Monday evening during the hours of 6 until 9 p.m.
