Rossie Elvaleana York

Mrs. Elvaleana York, 76 of Plainville, GA died Tuesday, June 2, 2015. She was born in Gordon County on February 24, 1939, daughter of the late Joe and Mamie Gravitt Burk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy York, in 2006.

Elvaleana was a retired bus driver with the Gordon County Board of Education. She was a member of Plainville Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Carissa York; her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and John White; grandchildren, Keisha, Jonathon, Josh, Braylen, and Camden; and great-grandchildren, Domenic, Lucas, Sammy, Ava, and Harlan.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Elvaleana York will be held Friday, June 5th at 2:00 PM from the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy, with Pastor Jerry Gaddis and Rev. Ricky Aldridge officiating. Interment will follow in Scott's Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jonathon White, Josh White, Tony York, Jerome York, Tony Destefanis, and Chris Hollingsworth.

The York family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 4th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
