Roy Darnell Hollingsworth

Mr. Roy Darnell Hollingsworth, age 67 of Calhoun, Georgia; died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Gordon Hospital following ten months of illness.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born on September 03, 1939 in Gordon County; son of the late Dewitt and Mary Frances Harris Hollingsworth. During his lifetime; Mr. Hollingsworth was employed as a truck driver where he retired with the Dixie Group, Inc. of Calhoun. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Hollingsworth is survived by his wife, the former Lucille Sylvia Reed to whom he was married for 24 years. Two daughters; Susan Brown and her husband, Mike Holloway of Calhoun, Georgia; Linda Hollingsworth of Dalton, Georgia. Two sons; Tim McFalls and his wife, Ann of Eton, Georgia; Brent Hollingsworth of Calhoun, Georgia. Three brothers; Tommy Hollingsworth, Steve Hollingsworth and Wayne Hollingsworth all of Calhoun, Georgia. Six grandchildren; Jimmy H. Brown, Jr; Logan Roberts; Meigan Hollingsworth; Grant Hollingsworth; Austin Franks and JoAnna Noe. Special friends; Judy Jacobs and Laura Dunn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Darnell Hollingsworth will be conducted Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chip Coleman officiating. Singing will be arranged by the King Family. Active pallbearers serving will include; Frank Moorehead; David Smith; Robert Elder; Vaughn King; John Miller and Joe Piacon. Bruce King and Boyd Spearman will serve as honorary pallbearers. Burial will follow the service at Gordon Memorial Gardens.
