Mr. Roy Holland, Jr., age 69 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Holland was born on August 12, 1940 in Hamilton County, Tennessee, son of the late Roy Holland, Sr. and Dorothy Moore Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Bramlett and a brother, Jack Holland. During his lifetime he was employed in the construction industry, and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Holland; two daughters, Kristi Elkins and her husband Andrew, and Regina Holland; a son, Phillip Holland and his wife Shelley; sisters, Bonnie Oliver and her husband Sammy, Carol Thomas and her husband Lynn, Eva Lyles and her husband Roy, Shirley Odom and her husband Charles, Beulah Stanley, and Sara Lau and her husband Mike; brothers, Vernon Holland and his wife Faye, Earl Holland and his wife Clara, Doug Holland and his wife Liz, Johnny Holland and his wife Joyce, and David Holland. Grandchildren surviving are Savannah Ragan, Cody and Elijah Holland, Pearce Elkins, and Claire Elkins, and step grandson Stephen Brady. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Holland will be conducted at 11:00am on Monday from the Trinity Baptist Church, with Rev Eddie Brannon and Rev. Jimmy Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday between the hours of 4:00pm and 9:00pm at the funeral home.
