Ruben Michael Hasty

Ruben Michael Hasty, 83, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025. He was born on September 24, 1941, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky to the late Carlton and Verlin Hasty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Onedith Hasty; siblings, Albert (Mattie Bell) Hasty, Delmus Hasty, Delbert (Bonnie) Hasty, Ralph (Kathy) Hasty, Lonnie (Charlotte) Hasty, Wanda (Charles) Frix, Imogene (Glen) Dockery, and Janet Swanson.

Ruben worked for the United States Postal Service and retired after 37 years of service. His first route was in the downtown area, where he walked and delivered mail for many years. He loved mowing the grass and being outside. He was a full-fledged University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan.

He is survived by his wife Elda Hasty; son, David (Cindy Walraven) Hasty; daughter, Shawnette (Mike) Owens; grandchildren, Jeremy Godfrey, Delisha Cole; great-grandchildren, Holly Bohannon, Emily Bohannon; many nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.

To honor his wishes, a private burial will be held at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
