Mrs. Ruby Laurazell Glass Cochran of the Folsom Community, Adairsville, went home to be with the Lord, May 9, 2009 after a five week illness. She passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She lived a fruitful Christian and happy life.
She was the daughter of Henry and Essie Glass, born in Murray County in a time of horse and buggy for travel and lanterns for light. She has lived through many eras and has seen a great deal of change. She loved the Lord, her church, and her family.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where her son, Jether Cochran is pastor. She went to church as long as she could, even when she could no longer hear all that was being said. She continued to tithe and then some right up to her death. Mrs. Cochran was a strong Christian and prayed many prayers for family and friends. If you were fortunate enough to be there in the morning as she would rise, you could hear her talking to the Lord, literally having a conversation with him.
Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Essie Glass, her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Jess and Ida Pearl Cochran, her loving husband of 64 years, Max Cochran in 2005, her sweet daughter, Maxine Rakestraw in 1995, a precious grandson, Sean L. Guy in 1975, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Arvil and Robbie Glass, and Tommy and Thelma Glass, three sisters and brothers-in-law; Irene and Dewey Casey, Jessie Lee and Rembert and Thelma and Boyd Farmer, one sister-in-law; Bessie Mae Glass, and other family members, Earnest and Inez Cochran, Raymond and Marie Cochran, Bob and Inez Payne, Agnes Hampton and Laverall Cochran.
