Ruth Davis Atkins

Mrs. Ruth Davis Atkins, 91 of Resaca, died Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Gordon Health Care. She was born in Gordon County on January 9, 1924, daughter of the late George and Martha Caroline Williams Floyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, and father of her children, Jack Davis; her second husband, Jack Atkins; four brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Van Davis of Covington, and Dale and Charlotte Davis of Ringgold; her daughters and son-in-law, Carol Cook of Hill City, and Susan and Phil Robbins of Calhoun; a sister, Bobbie Allen of Calhoun; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. Ruth Davis Atkins will be held Monday, December 21st at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rodney Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Brad Davis, Tyler Robbins, and Rodney Carr.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 21st from 9:00 AM until the service hour of 11:00 AM.
