Ruth Greenway

Mrs. Fannie Ruth Compton Greenway, age 94, formerly of Adairsville, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 surrounded by her family at Gordon Health Care. She was born in Comer, GA on April 24, 1918, daughter of the late George Milton and Fannie Lou Emma Scarbrough Compton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Sim Greenway, who died from injuries received in a farm tractor accident in 1971; and also by six brothers, four sisters, and a son-in-law, Robert Robinson.

Mrs. Greenway is survived by four daughters, Marilyn J. Robinson of Tyrone, GA, Joyce Trimble and her husband Richard of Calhoun, Paulette Teague-Luke and her husband Mike of Marietta, and Jean Smith and her husband Richard of Calhoun; a son, Roger William Greenway and his wife Linda of Canton; a sister, Enide Strickland and her husband Dwight of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Tracie Darnell, Spencer Teague, Kristina Jordon, Dina Dropp, Walt Robinson, Bill Greenway, Michelle Garvin, Craig Trimble, Larry Trimble, Dienne Trimble and Brent Guyton; and great-grandchildren, Jesse Darnell, Melinda Darnell, Katelyn Darnell, Erika Trimble, Tori Trimble, Paige Trimble, Avery Trimble, Christopher Morgan- Greenway, Caroline Greenway, Cate Greenway, Avery Garvin, Tyler Jordan, Will Jordan, Ryan Dropp, Delaney Dropp and Haley Robinson. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Ruth Compton Greenway will be held Tuesday, July 17th at 11:00 AM from Trinity Baptist Church, with Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pall bearers serving are grandsons, Craig Trimble, Larry Trimble, Bill Greenway, Walt Robinson, Spencer Teague and Brent Guyton.

The family of Mrs. Greenway will receive friends Monday between the hours of 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Greenway's memory to the National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163, or by going to www.nationalmssociety.org.
