Ruth Lee Maddox

Mrs. Ruth Lee Maddox, age 78, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, December 15, 2006, at the Shepard Hills Health Care Center in LaFayette. Mrs. Maddox was born in Gwinnett County on May 28, 1928, daughter of the late Mack E. and Levi Stephens Ray. She was retired from Scientific Atlanta.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, J.G. and Carole Guthrie; Grandchildren; Bryan Guthrie and his wife Mary; and Eric Guthrie and his wife Heather. Great-grandchildren surviving include Jessica, Olivia, Tucker, Rebekah, Kyle, and Nora Khee Guthrie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Maddox will be conducted on Monday, December 18, at 2:00pm, from the Rosebud Missionary Baptist Church in Gwinnett County, with Rev. Johnny Rolader officiating. Interment will follow in the Haynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Maddox will lie in state at the church from 12:00pm until the funeral hour of 2:00pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday between the hours of 1:00pm and 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association GA Chapter, 855 Abutment Road Suite 6, Dalton, GA 30721.
