Sallie Owens Mckissick

Mrs. Sallie Owens McKissick, age 89, of Calhoun, passed away Thursday April 19, 2007 at Gordon Hospital. She was born on February 11, 1918 in Winston, Alabama, daughter of the late Albert and Isabell Davis Owens. Mrs. McKissick was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis "Mac" McKissick, a brother, Arthur M. Owens, and a sister, Addie Owens.

Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Burger; a sister, Donna White; grandchildren; Keith Burger, Yvette Ostuw, and Rhonda Frix; great grandchildren; Jeri Ostuw, Kayla Ostuw, Jenna Ostuw, John Ostuw, Drake Frix, Raine "Tigger" Frix, Gage Burger, and Makenna Burger, all of Calhoun.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie McKissick will be conducted on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Bud Owens and Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Keith Burger, Jack Ostuw, Chris Frix, Charles Prater, Charles McKee, and Bud Owens. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:15pm. The family will receive friends Friday between the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm at the funeral home.
