Sam Houston Suggs

Mr. Sam Houston Suggs, age 83 of McDonough, GA, formerly of Calhoun, died Sunday May 1, 2011 at Westbury Health Center after nine years of declining health. Mr. Suggs was born in Gordon County on July 3rd, 1928, son of the late Vel and Roseca Watkins Suggs. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Northwest Georgia Paving as a truck driver. A great-grandchild, Skyler Ian McKeen preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Koonee Suggs of McDonough; two daughters, Ester Bolt and her husband Johnny of Alabama, and Tammy Johnson and her husband Thy of McDonough; two sons, Homer B. Stitcher of McDonough, and Robert Stitcher and his wife Marie of Alabama. Nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive

Funeral services for Mr. Sam Houston Suggs will be conducted Wednesday May 4th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Suggs and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.

The Suggs family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday beginning at 4:00 PM.
