Sam Pack

Mr. Sam Pack, age 69 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, December 18, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gordon County on February 13, 1940, son of the late Sam and Josephine Hobgood Pack. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bud, Curtis, and Marvin Pack; and three sisters, Lousie Mulkey, Eva Lou Allen, and Janey Greeson.

Mr. Pack was a retired business owner, and was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, C. Jean McCarty Pack; a son, Norman Pack; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Guy Rawls, and Glenda and Marvin Payne, all of Calhoun; a step-daughter, Rhonda Parker and her husband Bob of Venice, Florida; two brothers, Raymond Pack and his wife Edna, and Jackie Pack and his wife Betty, all of Calhoun; three sisters, Helen Bailey and her husband Larry of Calhoun, Shirley Weeks and her husband Ed of Dalton, and Faye Self of Brunswick, GA. Grandchildren surviving are Heather Smith, Lauren and Katie Pack, and Hayley Moore; and great-grandchildren, Kamara Anderson and Jordan Moore. Three step-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Sam Pack will be conducted Sunday, December 20th at 1:30pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Jimmy Best, David Burger, Marvin McBee, Bill Walraven, Donnie Mulkey, and David Hall. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 1:00pm. Jay McCarty, Gordon Jordan, and Leon Scott will serve as honorary pallbearers,

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
