Obituary

Sam Wilson, 34, of Calhoun died on Sunday, May 24 at Advent Health Gordon. Sam was born in Dalton, Georgia on March 23, 1986 to Mike and Susie Terry Wilson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Shirley Wilson and R.L. and Joyce Terry; his father-in-law Tommy Langston; his lifelong friend, Rev. Dr. Brent Davis. Sam was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed cooking, especially on the grill. He volunteered with Camp Sunshine to work with children that had health problems and was active in The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. His children were his passion; he will be remembered as a loving and caring dad.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Amanda Kasey Langston Wilson and two sons, Cooper Thomas Wilson and Cohen Langston Wilson; his parents Mike and Susie Wilson; mother-in-law Sandra Langston; sisters Wendy (Jamie) Stanley, Hollie (Will) Brooks; sister-in-law Gina (Michael) King, Rhonda (Michael) Mealor; brother-in-law Brian Davis; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and close friends.
The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from Heritage Baptist Church. Rev. Shane Parrott will officiate. Pallbearers are Richie Wright, Shay Wright, Jake White, David Locke, Caris Roland, Paul Crump, Matthew Price, Daniel Whitehead, Steve Godwin, and Dewayne York.
The Wilson family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church on Wednesday from 2:00 until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Camp Sunshine, 1850 Clairmont Road, Decatur GA 30033.
