Sandra Elizabeth Washington

Mrs. Sandra Elizabeth Washington, age 63 of Adairsville, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Washington was born in Bartow County, Georgia on July 4, 1944, daughter of the late William and Kenny Lou Baker Lowder. Sandra was the first female Certified Emergency Medical Technician in Bartow County, having been employed by the Bartow County Ambulance Service. Sandra loved her family and enjoyed collecting angel figurines. She was of the Christian faith.

Mrs. Washington is survived by her husband, Joel Lee Washington, to whom she was married for 27years; one step-daughter, Paula Postelle and her husband Ricky of Cartersville; two sons, Danny Moore and his wife Cheryl of Adairsville, and Donald Moore of Atlanta; one step-son, Phillip Washington of Cartersville; and two sisters, Billie Murphy and Janie Byrd both of St. George, South Carolina. Eight grandchildren; Brooke, Blake, Tyler and Candice Washington; Stephen and Sylvia Dotson, Austin Moore and Heather Minor; and one great grandchild, Montana Minor, also survive.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cartersville. Pallbearers serving will include Rodney Pope, Ryan Coker, James Wisener, Justin Newman, Nick Sheppard and Jeff Crowe.

The Washington family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home between the hours of 6 and 9 PM. The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions made to the Hope Center Foundation, 100 Market Place Blvd. Suite 102, Cartersville, GA. 30121.
