Mrs. Sara Frances Baxter, age 80 of Resaca, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Erlanger Medical Center. She was born in Gordon County on May 6, 1931, daughter of the late Claude and Mattie Clark. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Jake Baxter in 1993; a sister, Margaret Hilley in 2008; a brother-in-law, Bill Hilley; a nephew, Billy Bright in 1992; and a great-nephew, Lance Corporal Cody Warren in 2006.

Mrs. Baxter was a homemaker, and dearly loved her Boston Terriers. She was a member of the Sequoyah Chapter #286 of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a niece, Sheryl Hilley Bright of Resaca; a great-niece, Robin Patterson and her husband Tim; a great nephew, Marty Bright; three great-great nephews, Blake and Ethan Warren and Dylan Patterson; a great-great niece, Sheena Patterson; and a great-great-great nephew, Nolan Warren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Frances Baxter will be held Friday, April 8th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Marty Bright, Benny Hall, Tim Patterson, Blake Warren, Ethan Warren, and Tim Evans. Honorary pallbearer is Dylan Patterson.
