Obituary

Sara Mashburn, 82, of Calhoun, GA died Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She was born in Calhoun, GA on March 9, 1938; she was the daughter of the late Floyd Sims and Frances Parker Ray. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Mashburn. Sara retired from The Calhoun Times. She was a member of Boone Ford Baptist Church.
Sara is survived by her children, Donna Peppers, Randy (Patricia) Mashburn, Michael (Melinda) Mashburn, Tammy (John) Halliday, Celeste Mashburn (Will Solano); her grandchildren, Kristin, Brent, Joey, Steven, Ezekiel, Braden, and Olivia; her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Maggie, Andrew, Daniel, Adam, Marion, and Kaysen; many loving extended family members.
The Mashburn family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Boone Ford Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Quarles and Rev. Leamon Smith will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zeke Bohannon, Steven Mashburn, Lee Beach, Braden Mashburn, Brandon Bell, and Will Solano. Music for the service will be arranged by Walter Bohannon and Steve Quarles.
